Who is it for?
Run from dusk till dawn. Chase the Moon is a 12-hour team relay and solo ultra run, run overnight under the light of the moon on the Snowdon trail system. With clear skies under the moonlight take in the 360 views from coast to mountain. If you're up for the challenge, run as a solo ultrarunner, or get your fellow moon chasing friends together for a 3-person relay team.
A trail run like no other. Run through the night, under the light of your headtorch, can you beat the moon? Run through the foothills of Snowdon, blaze a trail up the highest mountain in Wales, descend Snowdon on its favoured side, and follow the course back into the valleys. This stunning route provides beauty and challenge on a backdrop like no other. Chase the moon across rugged mountainous terrain in the outdoor capital of the UK, have you got what it takes?
As the sun sets across Snowdonia illuminating the park in golden light, Chase the Moon begins at 7pm on Saturday the 22nd of September. Competitors will run through the night beneath the light of the moon, completing as many 14 kilometre laps of the course as possible. As the sun rises the race will come to an end at 7am on Sunday morning 23rd of September.
There will be a winner and a runner up in 3 categories:
- Female solo Ultrarunner
- Male solo Ultrarunner
- Relay Team
Positions will be judged on a combination of finish time results and the number of laps completed. Don’t miss this unique and incredible trail running experience.
Due to the nature of this event we expect a prior knowledge of trail running and experience of night time trail running.
