Beach clean at Dinas Dinlle

Sunday the 11th March 2018 saw a fantastic turn out. Firstly we would like to thank all the volunteers who gave up their time to look after their local beach. Over 30 budding beach cleaners came together on Sunday morning with gloves at the ready to clean the much loved coast at Dinas Dinlle. It was great to see team efforts from family and friends alike.

We handed out bin bags, litter pickers and spare gloves kindly loaned from Keep Wales tidy and began from the Chip Shop car park at 10am. Even the sunshine made an appearance for the morning! In a line we made our way up the beach, collecting most of the rubbish in the middle sea defence, making it all the way up to the end car park by the air port.

After successfully clearing the beach we finished at 1pm just before the rain came in. In total we collected lots of big plastics, pats of boats, lots of micro plastics and 16 to 20 full sacks of rubbish. The beach clean generated a wonderful social scene and friendly atmosphere. It was fantastic to see people offering to join in the fun on the day who had only originally come for a walk.

Every little helps so thank you again to all those who came along, the good turn out meant we had a bigger impact as a group. If you came along it would be great to see you at our future community events with your friends in tow (spread the word!), and if you missed out on the fun, come along next time. Here at Snowdon Events we promote protecting the environment, but it is only possible with helping hands. Keep an eye on our website for more community events coming soon...
